Learn Chinese culture through dance! Learn and play through performances, cultural lessons, and hands-on activities that will engage participants in a fun and educational way. Through dances from Chinaʼs different regions and ethnic enclaves, students can see first-hand how dance transcends linguistic and cultural boundaries as a means of expression.
Recommended for all ages.
Bring our teaching artists into your classroom! Spend a day learning basic Chinese dance technique. Or invite us for a weekly or biweekly residency to learn a full dance which students can perform at future events. Common props used include fans, ribbons, and handkerchiefs. Already experienced in dance? Learn how Chinese dance compares to Western styles of dance such as ballet, jazz, and modern dance.
Recommended for ages 7 and up.
